PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothed belt having a back rubber capable of generating a strong adhesion excellent in the heat resistance between the back rubber and core wires. SOLUTION: The toothed belt 5 comprises a plurality of tooth parts 3 arranged at a certain spacing in the longitudinal direction and a back part 2 where the core wires 1 are embedded, and a tooth cloth 4 is affixed to the surfaces of the tooth parts 3, wherein the back part 2 consists of a rubber composition of such a structure that unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salts and phenol resin are included in hydrogenated nitrile rubber followed by a bridging process with organic peroxides or sulfuric compound.
