PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high nitrogen steel with which such problems that it takes long time for nitrogen-addition and an additional material is expensive, are solved. SOLUTION: In a refining process of molten steel, the nitrogen-addition is applied by blowing mixed gas of nitrogen gas and reducing gas into the molten steel or blowing the mixed gas of the nitrogen gas and the reducing gas onto the surface of the molten steel.
