PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid detergent composition exhibiting liquid appearance even at a low temperature, providing good foam quality, and having excellent characteristics in use such as no tenseness. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent composition is obtained by formulating (A) an N-methyltaurine salt of a fatty acid, (B) a betaine of lauryldimethylaminoacetic acid represented by C<SB>12</SB>H<SB>25</SB>-N<SP>+</SP>(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>COO<SP>-</SP>, (C) a dihydric alcohol and (D) an arginine salt of a coconut oil fatty acid represented by RCOO<SP>-</SP>.NH<SB>2</SB>-C(=N<SP>+</SP>H<SB>2</SB>)-NH-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>3</SB>-CH(N<SP>+</SP>H<SB>3</SB>)-COO<SP>-</SP>. The component (A) is obtained by neutralizing fatty acids obtained by mixing lauric acid with myristic acid in a ratio of (95:5)-(70:30), with an N-methyltaurine salt so as to form 1.2-1.6 neutralization degree.
