METHOD FOR RECOVERING FLUORINE-CONTAINING EMULSIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply recovering the fluorine-containing emulsifier from the polymerization wastewater left after the production of a fluoropolymer. SOLUTION: The method for recovering a fluorine-containing emulsifier comprises adding a layered double hydroxide prepared by keeping an aqueous solution of a mixture of divalent metal ions and trivalent metal ions at a pH at which a layered double hydroxide of divalent ions and trivalent metal ions is formed to form a layered double hydroxide and firing the layered double hydroxide at 300-700°C to release the contained anions therefrom to the polymerization wastewater left after the production of a fluoropolymer and adjusting the wastewater to a pH equal to the above pH to include the fluorine-containing emulsifier among the layers of the layered double hydroxide, and subsequently separating the layered double hydroxide from the wastewater of the fluoropolymer.
