PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing process for an oxyalkylene-containing vinyl ester polymer, which is excellent in transparency when used for the applications of molding films, can control foaming both in the reaction at the initial stage of polymerization and in the recovery of unreacted monomers after completion of polymerization, when used as a dispersant for the suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride and the like, and is improved in the yield of the product, and for saponification product thereof. SOLUTION: In the copolymerization of an oxyalkylene-containing monomer and a vinyl ester monomer, the total charge of the oxyalkylene-containing monomer and 50 wt.% or more of the total charge of the vinyl ester monomer are charged to the polymerization system to carry out polymerization, and at the point when the polymerization rate of the vinyl ester monomer reaches 50% or more based on the charge, the remaining vinyl ester monomer is charged.
