摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, inexpensive, and lightweight gear shift operation mechanism having a simple structure and capable of preventing inconveniences such as erroneous shifting at the maximum advance speed and backing speed and double engagement in a gear type transmission of a vehicle. SOLUTION: Two operation arms are provided on a sliding lever engaging with one of a plurality of shift rails selectively are provided. A regulation member inhibiting double engagement of the sliding lever is arranged between the sliding lever and a plurality of shift levers, two operation arms of the sliding lever are inserted into first and second transparent holes provided in the regulation member, and the regulation member is moved in the direction of axial line of the shift rail in the interlocking relationship with shift operation of the sliding lever. A stopper inhibiting shift operation to backing speed when shift displacement to the maximum speed is possible and inhibiting shift operation to the maximum speed when shift displacement to backing speed is possible when the sliding lever is engaged with the maximum speed or backing speed is provided.
