PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift knob for manual transmission, capable of absorbing a shock generated when operating in the direction of shifting to eliminate sense of bumping while leaving direct feeling when operating in the direction of selecting. SOLUTION: This shift knob 1 fixed to an upper end of a gear shift lever 2 which is a gear shift operation member for manual transmission is divided into a part in the forward and backward directions which is the direction of shift and a part in the lateral direction which is the direction of select. The rigidity of the part in the forward and backward directions is set to be soft, and the rigidity in the part in the lateral direction is set to be hard. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
