PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously charge an illumination means and a main capacitor without making display on a display means unstable. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with the display means for displaying information related to photographing, the illumination means for illuminating the display means so that the displayed information may be easily confirmed, and a charge control means for controlling a charge current for charging the main capacitor in which charge for electronic flash light emission is stored, and the charge current in the case of charging the main capacitor is made different between while the illumination means is lit and when the illumination means is not lit (#107 and #116).
