<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording medium which has excellent printing density and color developing properties and has high performance on preventing ink from spreading and on which an image with high quality can be printed and whose productivity can be improved by decreasing manufacturing processes, and a method for inkjet recording. <P>SOLUTION: In an inkjet recording paper presupposing that an anionic pigment ink is used as the method for inkjet recording, the inkjet recording medium in which zeta-potential of the surface at a pH of 7-9 is adjusted to a positive potential (preferably, a positive potential in a range of 5-15 mV) is provided.
