LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is made thinner by omitting a diffusion sheet in a backlight without generating interference fringes on a display screen.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a liquid crystal display panel including a liquid crystal which is held between a first substrate and a second substrate; and the backlight which is disposed on the surface opposite to the surface facing the liquid crystal in the second substrate and which includes a prism sheet on the uppermost part on the side opposite to the second substrate. The second substrate is provided with a polarizing reflection plate on the surface opposite to the liquid crystal, and a diffusion layer is arranged between the polarizing reflection plate and the prism sheet. The polarizing reflection plate is provided with a support body opposing to the prism sheet and a polarizing reflection layer disposed on the support body. The diffusion layer is arranged on the surface of the support body facing the prism sheet.
