PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and rapidly acquire required map information by determining a radio line to be used according to the acquisition schedule of the map information in a map information distribution type navigation apparatus. SOLUTION: A calculated path to a destination being input to a GPS receiver 11 and a independent sensor 12 at an input section 13 from a current position is searched for by a control section 17. In the path, each radio line that is available, and the properties (communication speed, communication charge, and the like) of the radio line are outputted. Based on the available radio line and the properties, the acquisition schedule of the map information regarding when and which area map information are acquired using which radio line is planned.
