PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart emission distribution to a carbon lamp as a carbon-based heat generating body used for a fixing device for an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The emission distribution is imparted to the carbon lamp 26 arranged as a heat generating element for the fixing roll 20 of the fixation device 6 used in the image forming apparatus by adjusting a resistance value. That is, the fixation device 6 is provided with the fixing roll 20 for heating paper Po with an unfixed image while coming in contact with the paper Po, or coming adjacent to the paper Po, and the carbon lamp 26 for heating the fixing roll 20, and the carbon lamp 26 is provided with the heat generating body constituted of carbon material having different resistance values according to areas.
