PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting a liquid crystal display device, which makes it possible to obtain a high-quality liquid crystal display device without any display defect. SOLUTION: In the method for inspecting the liquid crystal display device constructed by holding a liquid crystal layer and spacer particles between a pair of substrates wherein the spacer particles maintain a distance between the substrates, surfaces or insides of the spacers of the liquid crystal display device contain an inorganic fluorescent material and positions of the spacers are detected by ultraviolet rays or X-ray irradiation. Here, fluorescence microspectroscopy or an optical microscope is used as a detection means. Also an image pick-up means and an image processing device connected to the detection means are included.
