PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new peptide having telomerase-inhibiting activities. SOLUTION: A peptide containing anα-amino acid residue substituted with an intercalator such as a group having an acridine skeleton, a group having an anthraquinone skeleton and a group having an anthracene skeleton can strongly bond to four-stranded structure formed by a guanidine sequence of a telomea DNA to stabilize the four-stranded structure, and can be a strong telomerase inhibitor. As a result, the peptide can be used as an effective therapeutic agent for exuberant disease found in an exuberant cell having exasperated telomerase activity, e.g. cancer, psoriasis and Marfan's syndrome, and as a reagent for research.
