PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fungicide which is used for agriculture and horticulture and can control Phytophthora infestans and Plasmopara viticola at a low dose. SOLUTION: This 5-(m-cyanobenzylamino)thiazole derivative represented by general formula (1) [R<SP>1</SP>is an alkyl, an aliphatic acyl, phenyl, a heterocyclic group or an alkylamino; R<SP>2</SP>is H or an alkyl; R<SP>3</SP>is a halogen atom, an alkyl, a cycloalkyl, phenyl, an alkoxy, phenoxy, a heterocyclic oxy, an alkylthio, phenylthio, heterocyclic thio, cyclic amino or amino; X is O or S; Y is an alkyl, an alkoxy, cyano, nitro, a halogen atom or an alkoxycarbonyl; (n) is an integer of 0 to 4, provided that, when (n) is 2 to 4, Y groups may be the same or different each other] or its salt, and an agrichemical containing the compound as an active ingredient.
