PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional elevator device with an extensible pantograph-shaped footing attached on the lower side of the bottom of an elevator car to move upward/downward the elevator car that a pit must be dug on the floor for setting the pantograph-shaped footing, and therefore, the cost for producing the pit is required. SOLUTION: In the elevator device, a pantograph-shaped lifting device and a guide rail are vertically built between one side of the elevator car and a wall of the elevator passage, and the one side of the elevator car is moved along the rail. A frame is made to hang toward the one side of the elevator car as the elevator car is pushed up by the lifting device, and the frame is located upward from the lower end of the elevator car by a length corresponding to the length of the lifting device when the lifting device is contracted.
