PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a template device for easily and efficiently setting a template member on the upper part inside an elevator passage around a threshold of an elevator in a building and therefore allowing an operator to easily and efficiently perform the mounting work of a guide rail and a threshold member by using the moving scaffold method after the template member is set. SOLUTION: Support brackets 15a and 15b projecting toward the inside of the elevator passage 11 are attached on both sides of the threshold 12 of the elevator, and a rack 20 is mounted between the tops of the projections of the support brackets 15a and 15b. The template member 30 is attached to the rack 20, and a reference wire 51 to be used as a reference in mounting guide rails of the elevator and a reference wire 50 to be used as a reference in mounting the threshold member on the threshold of the elevator are suspended from the template member 30 into the elevator passage 11.
