The invention relates to a method used in the medical treatment for inhibiting the fertilization of an oocyte. According to the invention, the method comprises the administration of a fertility-inhibiting amount of an antiprogestational agent, in the range from 0.01 up to 1 mg, in a mammal with ovulation, at least once during the monthly period, being administered orally or by deposit or intravaginally or parenterally, and the amount is sufficient either for preventing the ovulation, or for intefering with the regularity of the ovarian monthly period of the mammal.
