<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an activation apparatus by which high-quality homogeneous activated carbon can be manufactured in a short time and which can be used as an activating means both for manufacturing activated carbon and for making dioxin-containing sludge harmless. <P>SOLUTION: The steam generated from a steam generating unit is heated to 350-400°C by a steam heating means 16, which is then supplied upward to the central part of a furnace chamber 7 through a steam supply pipe 2. The peripheral wall 6 of a furnace body 1 is rotated while keeping the intra-furnace temperature at 700-900°C by heating the wall 6 of the body 1 by a heating means 3. Dioxin-containing sludge is crushed and kneaded with oil in a crushing/ kneading machine 40, which is then sent to the chamber 7 by a forcibly feeding pump 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
