摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To proper maintain an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine even when a feed of a maximum demand fuel injection amount responding to a state of an operation of an internal combustion engine is impossible. SOLUTION: A maximum fuel injection amount feedable at a present point of time is set as a fuel injection amount limit value according to the various operation parameters of an internal combustion engine, and when a demand fuel injection amount exceeds a fuel injection amount limit value, an air fuel ratio of exhaust gas discharged from the internal combustion engine due to insufficiency of capacity of a fuel feed system is changed into lean. Thus, in this case, an amount of air fed to an internal combustion engine is limited and controlled such that a demand fuel injection amount is indicated as an actual throttle opening against a driver demand throttle opening so that a demand fuel injection amount is below a fuel injection amount limit value. This enables control of an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas, discharged from an internal combustion engine, to a value in the vicinity of a theoretical air-fuel ratio even when a fuel feed system is in shortage of capacity.
