PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open and close a water channel in a short time in simple constitution. SOLUTION: This floating body type tide embankment is provided with a jetty 1 installed on both banks of the water channel 3, a floating body closing levee 4 of a hollow structure, which is moved between the jetty 1a and the jetty 1b to close the water channel 3, and is a free floating body 6 having the degree of freedom and floating to be elongated in one direction, and a sea bottom reaction wall 10 installed at the sea bottom between the jetty 1a and the jetty 1b and coming into contact with the inside of the water channel of the floating body closing levee 4 under the water. The floating body closing levee 4 is moved to cross the water channel 3 by lifting a haul line 11 with a winch 12 provided on the jetty 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
