PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, by which a high-precision compact can be obtained by attaining improvement in the flowability of metal powder and filling of a die with the metal powder in a fixed quantity with superior precision and no occurrence carbides resultant from the heat treatment and oxides resultant from contact with air during transfer/compaction, can be prevented. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the compact comprises steps of: transferring the metal powder M stored in a hopper part 2 to a feeder-cup part 6; filling a compacting die 13 with the metal powder M from the feeder-cup part 6; and compacting the metal powder M in the compacting die 13. In this method, inert gas G is supplied to both or either of a transfer pipe 3 for transfer from the hopper part 2 to the feeder cup part 6 and the feeder cup part 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
