PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing a pallet of a load handling vehicle with a simple structure without comprising a special pallet clamp. SOLUTION: Hydraulic cylinders 10a, 10b as slide mechanisms for horizontally movably supporting right and left forks 6a, 6b are provided to a lower part of floor surface of a driver's seat 5 in order to enlarge/reduce an interval between the right and left forks 6a, 6b. After the forks 6a, 6b are inserted into the pallet 7, an operator operates a slide operating section for enlarging/reducing the right and left cylinders 10a, 10b, and thereby, the interval between the right and left forks is enlarged and outside surfaces 60a, 60b of the respective forks 6a, 6b are respectively abutted to inside surface of a stringer 7c outside the pallet 7.
