PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press molding method which eliminate the troubles such as corrosion and deterioration, on the surfaces of a press die, the press die and a substrate for a magnetic disk formed by press molding. SOLUTION: In protective films on preforms 4 and 5 of the press die, iridium (Ir) is used as a noble metal-base metal having a high corrosion resistance and the concentration of the element (one among rhodium (Rh), ruthenium (Ru), palladium (Pd), osmium (Os), and rhenium (Re)) to be added as an alloy phase forming element is optimized, by which the noble metal having the high corrosion resistance or the pure noble metal and the alloy phase thereof are formed.
