<p>A sliding plug door comprises a door member 10 movable in relation to an opening in a structure of a vehicle between a closed position in which it at least partially occupies the opening and an open position in which at least part of the door member overlies the vehicle structure alongside the opening. A first drive means 30, 31, 33 effects a first movement of the door member inwardly and outwardly of the door opening, to and from its closed position; and a second drive means 51, 52, 55 effects a second movement of the door member laterally when it lies outwardly of the opening, to and from its open position. The drive means may be electric or fluid pressure operated.</p> |
