<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor in which a catalyst is easily prepared and a temperature distribution is made uniform and the stable operation of which can be continued without controlling the flow rate of a gas. <P>SOLUTION: This reactor is a plate fin type having a heat transfer area used as the catalyst. The temperature inside the reactor is made constant by dividing the combustible catalyst according to the characteristics of reformation reaction. The plate-like combustible catalyst is prepared preliminarily, cut into pieces so that each of the pieces has dimensions to be decided by the reformation reaction velocity and each of the pieces is stuck fast to a heat transfer partition wall. The stability of the reaction is improved by using a catalyst whose activity hardly depends on temperature as the combustible catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
