<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflective liquid crystal display element which maintains a high reflectance ratio and has high contrast. <P>SOLUTION: As for the reflective liquid crystal display element, liquid crystal is sealed between a pair of resin substrates, a reflection film is arranged inside of a lower resin substrate, a color filter (CF) consisting of respective colors of R, G and B is formed inside of at least one of the resin substrates, and a transparent electrode is formed inside of an upper transparent substrate. The absorbance (OD value) of the lower resin substrate is 0.22 or higher than this, and the reflection film formed on the lower resin substrate is patterned so as to be able to form dots corresponding to the color filter (CF) of R, G and B corresponding to the transparent electrode.
