PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defrosting method and device, capable of continuously supplying hot gas to automatically defrost a unit cooler and its peripheral devices and eliminating demerits due to the automatic defrosting without a means such as an exceptional heat source from the outside to a binary refrigerating cycle unit. SOLUTION: In the binary refrigerating cycle, a cooling circuit of a first refrigerator incorporating a cooling condenser and a cooling circuit of a second refrigerator incorporating a unit cooler are connected to each other by a cascade condenser to enable ultra-low temperature cooling with the unit cooler. A hot gas circuit of the second refrigerator is connected to a hot gas circuit of the first refrigerator by a defrosting condenser to continuously pass hot gas through a refrigerating pipe of the unit cooler.
