PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump wherein leaked droplets are not immediately discharged to the external of the water pump. SOLUTION: In this water pump 10 wherein the droplets leaked from an impeller 30 side through a mechanical seal 50 sealing one end side of a cylindrical space 26 are discharged to an atmospheric air side through a drain hole 22 formed on the other end side of the cylindrical space 26, a spiral projecting part 24a is formed on an outer peripheral face of the shaft part 24 for generating the flow from the other end side to one end side of the cylindrical space 26 in the atmospheric air in the cylindrical space 26 by the rotation of a shaft part 24.
