PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine capable of reducing the load to the internal combustion engine by a gas compressor. SOLUTION: This gas compressor comprising gas compressing parts 5, 10, 11, 15 for compressing a gas by being rotated and driven, and a rotating shaft 10 for transmitting the rotational driving force to the gas compressing part, further comprises a rotation assisting device 31 for adding the torque in the rotating driving direction to the rotating shaft 100 by receiving the pressure of the gas flow at a suction side or a discharge side. The rotation assisting device is operated by the gas flow, whereby the rotational power is assisted, and the power for operating the gas compressor is reduced.
