PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refining method for an iron containing solution suitable for manufacture of iron oxide for high performance soft ferrite and having a low impurity content of such as phosphorus by using a means by which precipitates of iron oxide hydrate are not produced. SOLUTION: The pH of an iron containing solution is adjusted to be in the range of pH -2 to pH 0.5 and then the solution is brought into contact with an anion adsorbing chelate resin to remove phosphorus.
