PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip brake mechanism which makes it possible to perform a smooth binding operation without causing a loose in a combined clip 6 wrapped around itself. SOLUTION: In a clip binding machine designed so as to bind things with a combined clip 6, in which clips 1 are connected to one another, a magazine 10 for storing the clip series 6 is disposed on one side of the wrapped portion of the combined clip 6. Also, the machine has a fixed flange 12 provided with a support drum 15 supporting the wrapped portion of the combined clip 6. In addition, the machine has an elastic means 27 which movably supports on a cylindrical body 23 an urge flange 13 disposed opposite the fixed flange 12 and elastically presses the urge flange 13 to a side edge of the clip series 6.
