PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain stable combustion even if combustion air supply amount is small, and to generate an atmosphere of extremely low oxygen. SOLUTION: This burner apparatus burns fuel such as LNG gas with combustion air and heats the inside of a kiln in a reducing atmosphere. A nitrogen gas piping extending from a nitrogen gas supply source (not illustrated) for supplying nitrogen gas as atmospheric gas is connected, through a nitrogen gas control valve 31, to the ambient air suction side of a blower 22 on a combustion air supply line leading to the burner body 11 through an ambient air opening/closing valve 21, the blower 22, and a combustion air amount control valve 23 so as to mix atmospheric gas with supply amount controlled with combustion air supplied to the burner body 11 of the burner apparatus disposed on the kiln 1.
