The automobile body has a structure (2) for the occupants together with a carrier structure (3) for the motor and drive units and the wheel suspension. The motor carrier structure is bonded to the passenger body by holders (4). The motor section has a bonding zone (9) against the passenger body and a trailing end (10), formed by a shell (11) of high tensile plastics with glass fiber reinforcement to give optimum strength. The shell acts as a housing around all sides of the motor assembly.
