The method involves stopping the drive (M) and activating a mechanical holding brake (BB) without switching the drive off but actively continuing to maintain the holding position. A more reliable drive is used, i.e. unintentional drive switch off cannot be avoided but inadvertent start-up of the drive is reliably prevented.
