<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reliable gas-detecting apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Output is made by a pulse voltage control means 7 to a heater 5 for heating a gas detection section 27. When the wave-height value of a pulsive application voltage is high, the heater 5 for enabling gas detection is heated. Contrarily, when the wave-height value is low, room-temperature measurement is made according to the resistance value in the heater.
