<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a catalytic converter, particularly a thin-walled ceramic carrier, from being damaged due to the occurrence of nonuniform temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cut during decelerating operation is prohibited for a specified period after an operation of a rotation limiter for performing the fuel cut when an engine speed exceeds an allowable speed or, after an operation of a vehicle speed limiter performing the fuel cut when a vehicle speed exceeds an allowable vehicle speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
