PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protector for an optical fiber cable in which surge measures are taken and an optical fiber cable is easily attached and to provide an attachment method for the optical fiber cable.

SOLUTION: Insertion holes 10H and 11H into which the optical fiber cable 1 to be attached is inserted are bored in housing 10 and 11 and a tension member lock tool 20 is arranged separately in the housings 10 and 11; after a portion of the jacket of the optical fiber cable is removed for exposure, an end part of a cut tension member 3 is locked with the tension member lock tool 20.
