PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water vapor transmitting coating composite material capable of exhibiting required mechanical and chemical properties for coating especially a knitted or a woven fabric and leather and having high water vapor transmission.

SOLUTION: This coating composite material comprises one or both surfaces with one or more of the same or different coating compositions. In the process, at least one coating composition contains an aqueous polymer dispersion produced from an unsaturated monomer and modified with a silica sol as a binder.
