PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object-carrying system which accurately detects carrying information such as speed at which an object is carried and a direction in which it is carried, regardless of the shape, material, and surface of the object to be carried, and which is small and inexpensive. SOLUTION: The object carrying system has a pair of carrying rollers 2 and 2, upper and lower, which carry and move an object 1 by rotating at speed V<SB>0</SB>with the object 1 between them. The lower roller 2 incorporates a plurality of electric heating devices 7. By the application of heat by the electric heating devices 7, a heated portion 3 is formed on the surface of the object 1. As the object 1 is carried and moved, the heated portion 3 enters a detecting range of a carry movement detector 4 (which has a condensing lens 10 that gathers infrared light emitted from the heated portion 3, and a light receiving element 11 that receives incoming gathered infrared light and outputs specific information). Light (infrared light with a wavelength near 10μm) emitted from the heated portion 3 is detected and the speed V<SB>1</SB>at which the object 1 is carried is measured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
