PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire tightening device for a wire drum-type window regulator capable of tightening a wire in the upward and downward movement of a window only by mounting a wire tensing member on one position, and capable of being effectively functioned for a long period. SOLUTION: This wire tightening device comprises a slider 2 connected to the window and slid along a guide rail 1, the wire 3 to which the slider 2 is fixed, and a drum 4 for driving the wire 3, and the wire tensing member 5 is mounted in a state that both end parts are simultaneously slid and engaged with in-and-out parts 3a, 3b of the wire 3 to the drum 4, and slidable in the direction crossing the in-and-out parts 3a, 3b.
