PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softener composition which has excellent dispersibility in water and excellent storage stability for a long period, and improves the water-absorbing property of clothes. SOLUTION: This softener composition contains, as essential components, (A) one or more cationic surfactants selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by the general formulas (1) to (4) (see the specification) and (B) a polyhydric alcohol type nonionic surfactant.
