<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the throughput of a system by speeding up accessing a memory. <P>SOLUTION: When recording data is held as index data, an exclusive FIFO memory is set between a data processing circuit before an index development and a circuit for executing the index development, and the data is temporarily stored in the memory. In reading out the data, a part necessitated for processing of a recording head is specified by a pointer, thereby accessing the memory efficiently.
