<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic product capable of controlling whether or not the power source is supplied according to the host apparatus operation state, and a power source controlling method for an electronic product. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus is linked with a host apparatus via a data line for receiving the transmission of printing data, and an interface having a power source supply line. The imaging apparatus comprises a power source supply 230 for supplying a driving direct current power source to an electric accessory by converting an external alternative current power source, a switch 231 for selecting existence or absence of supply of the driving power source to the electric accessory, and a control unit 217 to be operated by a voltage supplied through a power source supply line for controlling the switch by existence or absence of data transmission through a data line. The control unit 217 controls the switch 231 such that the driving power source is blocked with respect to the electric accessory in the case the state without the printing data reception continues for a predetermined time or more, or a predetermined power source is not supplied from the power source supply line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
