PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container of a compact which enables easy removal of a mirror on the occasion of disposal and makes it unnecessary to open covers for the purpose of removal. SOLUTION: An engaging projection 11 engaging the front end edge of the mirror 10 is provided inward inside an upper cover on the front end part side thereof. An engaging part is provided on the surface of an engaging member 15 fitted slidably in the longitudinal direction that comes into slidable contact with the rear end part of the upper cover, while an engaging part engaging with the aforesaid engaging part so that it disengages in the longitudinal direction is provided in the rear end part of the upper cover 3 which comes into slidable contact with the engaging member, and an engaging piece 23 which engages with the rear end edge of the mirror in a state wherein the two engaging parts engage with the upper end of the engaging member is so provided as to face inward. A groove part for insertion of an operating part piece for making the engaging member slide rearward by disengaging the two engaging parts so that the engaging piece may come off from the rear end edge of the mirror is formed, with the lower end opened, between the engaging member and the rear end part of the lower cover.
