PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray sorting apparatus which sorts articles at every items without injuring the merchandise values of articles and the tray. SOLUTION: Sorting information recorded on a recording medium 14 of the tray 10 is read by an information communication device 42 and is outputted to a controller 41. Sorting devices 42 for class and grade corresponding to the discrimination is driven on the basis of discrimination by the controller 41, the restraint by means of a lever 35 of a placement stand 26 is simultaneously released and a guide pin 32 which is protruded downward by the restoring force of a coil spring 34 is moved along a guide rail 40. At the same time, abutting members 28 are butted on the trays 10 placed on the placement stands 26, the trays 10 on which fruits and vegetables A are placed are conveyed in the direction almost vertical to the conveyance direction and are almost horizontally moved in the sorting direction and the sorting supply is performed at every classes and every grades.
