PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a double-layered coating film of a metallic tone which is brilliant and has an excellent bright feel by coating a surface with a metallic coating material and a clear coating material by using a two coat and single bake system (2C1B). SOLUTION: This method for forming the double-layered coating film comprises coating an intermediate coating film surface subjected to thermal curing wet on wet with the metallic coating material (A) containing aluminum flakes, aluminum flakes coated with a metal oxide and titanium white pigments and the clear coating material (B), then simultaneously curing both coating films by heating.
