PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up a bit map generation process while maintaining the degree of freedom of a macrodefinition in a printing controller for generating a bit map by macro data.

SOLUTION: A processing part (22) calls macro data from a memory (26) in which macro data is stored, and generates bit map data. The processing part (22) detects an effectiveness of generating the bit map from macro commands and registers bit map data of only effective ones as macro data into the memory (26). The macrodefinition with the degree of freedom can be stored by the bit map and the need of developing commands while analyzing commands is eliminated for a next time and afterwards. High-speed processing is thus enabled also in a macro control having the degree of freedom of the macrodefinition.
