<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an L-amino acid oxidase having thermostability and usable for applications to production and assay of substances including a method for producing the thermostable L-amino acid oxidase and a microorganism producing the enzyme, further a method for eliminating the L-amino acid in a sample using the thermostable L-amino acid oxidase, a method for assaying and a method for optical resolution from a racemic compound, a method, or the like, for producing a 2-oxo acid. <P>SOLUTION: The thermostable L-amino acid oxidase is a catalytic enzyme oxidizing the L-amino acid in the presence of oxygen and water and producing the 2-oxo acid, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. The oxidase has ≥85% residual enzyme activity ratio even after heat treatment in the presence of a 50 mM acetic acid buffer solution (pH 5.5) at 70°C for 15 min. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
