PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rationalized method for manufacturing a wood flour/resin composite material, capable of completing moisture conditioning efficiently in a short time and capable of contributing to energy saving and space saving, and the wood flour/resin composite material manufactured by the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The water retention materials supplied from rolls 3 are laminated on both surfaces of the wood flour/resin composite material 2 being a continuous plate-shaped body extruded from an extruder 1 and water or hot water is sprinkled over or applied to both surfaces of the wood flour/resin composite material 2 by water adding devices 10 through rolls 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Therefore, water is held to the water retention materials 4 laminated to the outer surfaces of the wood flour/resin composite material 2 and the whole of the outer surfaces of the wood flour/resin composite material 2 is conditioned in moisture uniformly and efficiently and, since the wood flour/resin composite material 2 is already uniformly heated by the heat at the time of molding of the extruded sheet, this method is advantageous from an aspect of energy efficiency and more uniform moisture conditioning can be realized.
